Does Lyrica Cause Sleeping Episodes During The Day?
UpdatedI have started Lyrica and I am up to 3 X 75mg capsules a day. There are several complications and they are too lengthy to go into here. But I have found that my sleep episodes during the day and early evening have skyrocketed. I just curious as to what others have experienced taking this dose of Lyrica.

It has been known to cause drowsiness as a side effect, according to FDA reports, as well as nausea, dizziness, mood swings, and weight changes.
But, it shouldn't cause sleep episodes that make you crash out unexpectedly.
Are you on any other medications? Were you experiencing sleep episodes, before taking it?
Re: Verwon (# 1)
Yes, but it is a complicated story. I had been on a BI-PAP for about 17 years. The problem it was causing was acid reflux and he kept reducing it to as low as he could go. He gave up on me and sent me to a specialist who does oral mouthpieces. The day after I started using the mouthpieces my sleepiness went through the roof. The doctor (Dentist said to go back to the bi-pap machine so I am doing an oral appliance and a BI-PAP).
I have been using the same sleep medications for 20+ years and never an issue and the new medication of Lyrica has me wondering.
Re: Verwon (# 1)
Just an update here. The doctor upped the dosage 2 take 4 X 75 MG of Lyrica daily.
SO far its hard to tell but it seems that the sleeping episodes have gone down. I need another week or two, to see what is going on.
Re: Ed (# 3)
Just another small update, the doctor has increased the Lyrica to 3 X 75 MG a day,
I have mostly fallen asleep watching TV, although one time I fell asleep at my computer and about 1 hour later I fell out of my chair at the computer. I was lucky as afterwards when I tried to get up I was able to grab a hold of a sturdy object or else I would have stayed there all night. I am in the middle of a bad chest cold and have been taking various cold medications. Oddly enough they seem to lesson (but have not eliminated) the sleep sessions during the day. My regular doctor is on vacation so I have no one to ask.
Re: Ed (# 4)
Just an update, the doctor has increased the dosage to 4 X 75 MG per day.
The sleep issues have stayed the same. So no change even with the increased dosage although the sleep episode I am not wakening refreshed.
