I'm interested in finding a private doctor's office (not a clinic) that will prescribe methadone. I can't afford these clinics! Does anyone know of a doctor???

Yea sometimes that will happen once in awhile. I had it done to me when I used an E-mail address. I think it is just done randomly. At this point I feel a need to take a break from the site as I do feel it may be abused. I'm sure m ost of us don't use "real" names. I feel bad doing this but I value my appts. I may pop up later but for now I'm sorry but I will not be able to go on. There are a few just looking for drugs to get high. I try to respond to those that honestly need the help. Good luck to all.

I was thinking about it and it had to be someone who knows you personally and that you told about it. How else could they use you as a referral unless they know your first and last name? None of us on here uses our full names. So they are either trying to f with you or they are really stupid. I didn't even tell my husband . We all have to stick together or we are all gonna get screwed. I am not trying to be a b**** but please don't tell anyone . If you are ever asked all you have to say is you looked for a physician search under your insurance plan, or that your insurance customer service helped you pick one. Or you needed one closer to where you live, or the hours are good for you. There are a million things you can say. I didnt even tell my husband where I found my doctor and my docs office didnt even ask me who referred me. Again everyone be careful or we are all gonna get screwed. I am so grateful I found this site because I really needed it and we ALL have to stick together. And everyone dont even mention that you found this site. Come on everyone THINK!

my once a month visits were also a blessing to me..but didn't matter even tho I hadn't ever lied to my dr.it did not matter.as soon as my name came outa someones mouth I sufferd the consequences fair? fk no and this dr had asked. me to trust him.what a joke.

Everyone, We should all use common sense and never let a DR. know we have a website as this one. This site is here to help one another. When I went in for my first visit I just stated I was looking for a new doctor because my Dr did not stay open late. I have been afraid in the past to mention some things but I know how important it is to get care. If I feel I might be in jeporady I will no longer respond and help which would be such a shame. Stop and think. I have always been honest with my DR and never want to lie because my once a month appointments are blessing for me. Take Care.

to everyone,
I hope everyone knows not to say how they hear about the doctor they go to. Just say it was from a physician search or something like that. Never say it was from a forum like this. We need to stick together or we might all get screwed. they are really cracking down on docs giving out meds and people that actually need it are the ones who get screwed. So everyone please watch it.

becarefull..the dr I was seeing had been treating my severe osteoarthritis both knees need tkr bone on bone.he had taken over my pain management for over a yr. on my scheduled appt he said that somebody had called his office and used me as a referal and that I said he'd persribe methadone. that's. all it took for him to tell me I hada find another dr. it didn't. matter that I never told anyone to call n use me as a reference. dr had me on 140mgs. of methadone and 200mcgs fentanyl buccal 2 x a day.I'm stil. l struggling to find a dr. just b e warned they. can do whatever they want(drs.)

I need a doc who will prescribe methadone, not a clinic . I have back probs n am on disability but also have addiction in my history. I live in west side of lower peninsula, ludington michigan. My doc moved unexpectedly d/t emergency. I would drive 60 miles. Pls help, I'm feelin desperate cuz of increased pain

I'm in Trenton area New Jersey. And need a doc that prescribes methadone. Been on subs on and off for 5 years and I hate it. I still have cravings and keep relapsing. When I was on methadone years ago I had no cravings. Someone please help!

Thanks for the help Pam. Yes i have about 4 years worth of documentation from ER visits to bone scans, mri, ct scans, x-rays .... ive seen 3 different orthopedic surgeons (no surgery yet though). I have a unique xondition as i injured my knee multiple times playing football while i was younger. Ive been explained (its also visible in images) that my knee did not grow correctly. My growth plate is still open and there is also a piece of bone missing. Ontop of that, i have old Osgoodschlatter's that leaves me with severe patellar tendinitis. My knee cracks and pops, is constantly swollen and constantly throbbing at the least. At its worst, i cannot lift my leg out of the bathtub after showering. Hope this info helps.

OK Young Buck, it is going to be hard to get a doctor to feel your pain. Do you have any medical proof of you condition, X-rays etc. I have plenty of methadone clinics you can go to but a reg. doctor I'm not too sure. I do know one on 8 mile and I-75 but let me know more about your condition so I know which way to go with this. Thanks

Hey thanks. I didn't even think of that duh! I'm gonna call around here when everything opens and if no luck, I will check the hospital he works out of. Pam, (or anyone else) please help me in finding a good doc in the Metro Detroit area. I live in Canton, MI (20 mins from Ann Ar or). I need a doctor that wont discriminate against me being young (22), a doc who will listen to me and understand my knee problem and my pain scale. Im tired of being treated like a drug seeker just because im young and need atleast a few percocet a day just to get around my house, let alone run around after my 2yr old. Id really appreciate it. I cant wait to find relief as everyday has seemed like hell lately. I look forward to a reply.
