I had the same trouble with my psychiatrist. I've been on Xanax for 15 years I never had a problem. It helped my anxiety, sleeping, mood, energy, and basically quality of life. My anxiety is so bad that I cannot even go shopping without having a major panic attack. I've not been able to find any doctor that will prescribe me Xanax and I agree with you definitely the government needs to get out of the way of these doctors. They have no business getting involved. They said that Xanax was dangerous? Well, anxiety is more dangerous because when it's so bad that you want to die, that's not good.

It seems the person is looking for a doctor that is a "script writer" A doctor prescribing a medication solely because a patient asks for it is illegal.

How so??? I beg to differ. In all my years as a nurse I witnessed EVERYTHING. It is very common for patients to bring their meds with them or as you fill out new patient forms list them. I recognize the ones who appear to be drug seeking. Even so, I feel better that they are asking for help with anxiety and/depression as opposed to buying it possibly laced with fentanyl on the street. We have entered an era of anxiety and depression much greater than years before. It's practically impossible to get a simple Vicodin now. We have the government to control EVERYTHING and I can assure you the DEA aka BIG BROTHER II has your name flagged if you are abusing or Dr shopping. As for me, I miss the good old days of properly being prescribed what I know works for me.
