Doctors Willing To Prescribe Heavy Pain Medication In Colorado (Page 91)

Updated

I have a serious problem. My dr. had two patients start dr. shopping and has decided it is too big of a pain in his butt to continue prescribing, even though I have gotten MRIs and Xrays to prove my problems. I have over a half a dozen herniated discs in my low back, along with degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and arthritis in my facet joints. I am currently on5 30mg oxycodone a day for breakthrough and 60mg of methadone for my long lasting meds. I REALLY need a doctor in the Denver, CO area who will not judge me because of my age, thinking I'm just some drug seeker as I TRULY need my meds to function. I am even being placed on disability until I can get my back healed because if something doesn't change I will be in big time pain for the rest of my life. If ANYONE knows of a good doctor that prescribes strong meds willingly in the Denver area please let me know. I am in desperate need of help as I am going to be SCREWED if I cannot find a good doctor. SOMEONE please help me with a doctor!!!!!

Co Susie I'm sorry I should have specified I was wondering what cream synergizic had spoken about. I will try to get that info from someone who goes to that clinic. I have been with the same Dr. since 1996 and I am having difficulty in getting her to prescribe something stronger. I am miserable with the vicoprofen she has me on as I take far too much of it, with only a short time of the pain being dialed down. I am glad you have a good Dr. and I definitely would not put the name out there for everyone, lol look what happened with the recent clinic and all the problems we are seeing with that. It's gotten ridiculous that true pain patients should have to worry that they may lose their Dr. and the meds they need to help make their day bearable :(

So how do we stop him from hurting Mr S ? Yes I told you all this would happen I saw it coming .Cpr is pist over losing not patients money .What did you think would happen it's Noone fault but everyone who wouldn't just chill and let mac see them wait few weeks than go .If crap does happen wich it will Doc 2 already told my husband he had no idea all these people were pain patients from the same clinic .if he would have known he wouldn't of taken on any new patients from there .Sorry to be a jerk but if he can't write certain meds because some of you never bothered to tell him you came from the same clinic and now he looks like a place to score it's your own Damn fault and u screwed it up for the rest .Now rainbow especially Mac will be screwed no clinic will give him all those meds .With the bs at Cpr on his chart.

So you know Mr S told me , the DEA watches these forums .They follow people post , where to go get meds etc .It's great you share info but to the Dea as Mr S says u look like drug addicts .Now that he knows what's going on and why everyone really left some of you won't be seeing him either .His words .Rain you seem very nice I read all your post I don't think you realize you open Pandora box.I sit here reading all your post and I see you worried now about what you say seriously ???? The poor Mr S isn't even a doctor did any of u know that ? Here's how Cpr can shut them down not being a pain clinic , not a MD ,46 patients in one week came from that place because of this forum.

Have you thought of reporting Charles? He is an egotistical son of a gun who uses scare tactics on people to frighten and intimidate them so they will cower and not confront or question his credentials. Do any of you realize he has a boss? Yes, he owns the pharmacy or so he says, but there is a CEO over the franchises and if he is reported to them and the BBB better business bureau, who in their right mind would want to buy a company that has negative marks against it already?

Your ok im sure there asking questions because the others on here that weren't upfront with him about why they were there .The poor guy has a perfect record now he's got every junkie in town trying to see him .Cpr is a pay clinic you pay and you get the pills you want .Some of these people are jokes on here junkies not chronic pain patients. That's why they were there instead of real doctors again not my words Mr S .Out of 200 people at Cpr only 30 might be legit .You dont need oxycotin for back pain 5/6 a day if your not willing to take long acting your after the high and that's out of your doctor's mouth .This is very sad real people need a good doctor and the dumbass e's didn't get the amount of meds they wanted from Cpr and started all this hope she's proud now .

I agree that there were some sketchy people at cpr and am glad I found a new doctor and not at cpr anymore.

I told them I was at CPR the first time I went in there. I told him about everything and they still saw me and didn't care to see my doctor records. And even the second month I went in I told them that I can give them my doctor records and he said he has all he needs with just my diagnosis' from my MRI and X-RAY. He told me he knows I'm not a drug seeker and that they can tell I am a legit chronic pain patient that needs the meds to function. Which is why I'm working with them on every level, because I am not just wanting one medication and unwilling to try any of their suggestions. I know many internists that see pain patients for over ten years and haven't had any problems. Just because the DEA is keeping an eye on them doesn't mean they're getting shut down. It just means they have to and are going by the book, and if they don't then there could be some problems, which I'm sure is upsetting people who came from CPR thinking anything they want they can get. I know it. There is no reason that they would be shut down because of a finger point by CPR. It's kind of funny, When you don't pay $200 a month just for them to write you scripts and not be concerned about other therapies. If anything, that is a place that would be shut down. I believe in Mr and Mrs S that they will do the right thing and I will give them my utmost attention to what they want me to try for my treatment.

Sick of Junkies, I have seen them the last two months and haven't had them tell me that I need to find another place or anything like that. They told me to not worry now that I'm with them.... Which made me feel very safe and that someone actually cares.I am going to continue doing what they ask me to do, working side by side with them, not fighting their suggestions. I saw people at CPR being discharged all the time for heroin use, and other illegal drug use, or not having their meds in their urine, almost every single time I was in there. It's no secret that they were supplying a bunch of junkies who had injuries earlier in life and blew them out of proportion to get more meds. They were ok as long as they were making money. But now that C isn't making all his money that he sought after he is going to try to take out the competition. I almost want to tell Mr S.... But I'm not sure.....

And your the hall monitor right ? Why did you change your screen name as if people don't know who you .Look I don't really care if you don't get your meds so if the clinic closes. That's on you. Anyone that post about a doctor the first thing you all ask and read your own post Mountain momma girl , lizzy, fuzzy, rain, Tammy, Wendy... is will they give me this med I need 6 oxycotin or I need 10 perks? Tell me - if your doctor read your post what would he think ? I know... JUNKIE. It makes me mad seeing people abuse the system like some of u ladies have. If u can't get your meds some time soon blame yourself

I have personally known Doctors that have had their license suspended or revoked for writing too many scripts. BUT, these doctors had way too many patients, couldn't keep track of who was who and who took what med, and how much... basically just wrote scripts two or more times a month not paying attention to the last time they filled it and not checking to see what other meds they were prescribing the same person. They didn't keep up with follow up appointments and a care plan. So there wasn't really any care planning at all. They were basically JUST filling meds and not much else. I have worked for the Doctors that I'm referring to and even though they were great Doctors, compassionate and intelligent, I believe they took on way more than they could handle and their patients became a number. It was really upsetting for me to see the last Doctor that I worked for get suspended. But I had a feeling that it was inevitable because of how he was writing script after script and just letting his patients know that they could pick the script up at the front desk, no appointment needed. If you're seeing a healthcare professional that is thorough, taking down your complete health history, doing physical exams, going over all your medication, actually seeing you physically in the office each time, that is excellent care. That is how it's supposed to be done. The dea can investigate but when you're thorough like the way the Smiths are and genuinely care about your patients well being, keeping consistent records, documenting everything, etc, that's how a practice should be run. I know lots of other practices that should take notes! People that are just seeking meds that aren't in real physical pain will eventually (if not right away) show their true colors or slip up in one way or another. I witnessed it in the offices and hospitals that I worked at. As long as the Healthcare professionals in the office are doing their job by caring for patients in a compassionate and ethical way, it will be fine. Doctor patient relationship needs to be based on trust, and as long as you have that and an understanding with each other and are consistent with your communication, you should be fine too. All this gossip and he said she said stuff is creating a panic between people and it's just unnecessary. I think there's a lot of information being passed around and it's becoming more and more misconstrued in the process.

I'm wondering if I might benefit from a topical cream. I use glucosamine cream and spray pretty often. Do any of you use marijuana for medicinal purposes? I was told by a couple of doctors that I might benefit from that and to try it. I have a lot of nausea on a daily basis in addition to chronic pain. I haven't touched marijuana since I was a teenager and I remember I stopped because it was giving me panic attacks, making me anxious and paranoid. THAT is not something I want to feel again, but I was told that there are different strains that wouldn't make me feel that way... I don't know though, I don't trust it. I'm just weird about trying new things because of my baseline anxiety and my sensitivity to meds and substances, even caffeine.

Anyway, I'm sorry this was so long. I'm up late and can't sleep. I take ambien but I'm thinking maybe it's just not working much for me anymore. Has anyone taken ambien and then switched to ambien CR...? And if so, did you notice a difference? I put in a request for private communication via e-mail but haven't received a response... maybe I should do it again? If anyone is up right now, feel free to contact me, I'm a night owl.

Speaking of changing names, I'm pretty sure I know who you really are... In general, you're just an a** who doesn't know how to use grammar properly AND who has an ego the size of the Rockies... So you must not have many friends because you feel the need to constantly put everyone down. As for your accusations, you might want to go back and read my posts. I never asked about a certain med... I take just about the LOWEST dose of the WEAKEST med out there, you jerk! He tried me on something higher, and I had to go off of it. I'm not from CPR, never tried H, and really don't need you to sit in judgement of me OR anyone else on here. What's your story, sick of junkies??? How much med do YOU take?? You sure are willing to be an a** to everyone without revealing much of yourself.

WOOOOOWWWW!!!!!! Sick of Junkies. The whole reason people ask those kinds of questions is because they don't want to spend money at a doctor that will just send them on their way, having to go see another 5 doctors that do just the same. Spending hundreds in a month for NOTHING!!!! You're the almighty being who can judge and say who is doing what and how they're just useless people for having asked about a doctor. It doesn't seem to me that someone who throws out words like you to people you don't know could be a chronic pain patient. Sitting on your high horse with almighty wisdom, judging people FOR ASKING A QUESTION SO THEY DON'T WASTE THEIR TIME, and so they don't have to see 5 different doctors, wasting money just to be told how they're drug seekers and treatment is only for cancer patients, sitting there in perfect health, judging those who came to them for help towards a better life. I am sick of junkies too, but I don't know how someone can jump on here and throw out deity-like judgments on everyone on here simply because they don't want to waste a bunch of money while being treated like druggies simply because they want a semi-normal life..... I don't get it. Ya, I'm not an i****, I know there are people on here who are just seekers, and maybe some people on here are just looking for drugs to feel high, and that's why I wanted to keep new doctors' names off of here and just communicate through email so that this flood to doctors doesn't happen. But either way, the S's know what they're doing, they're not going to risk their license to treat patients they feel don't need the treatment. They will weed out the seekers, but that doesn't happen overnight. S was telling me about DEA regulations so they are obviously aware of the situation stemming out right now from the almighty finger of Mr C, and are going to abide by the laws just like anyone else who does things right. And if people don't want to abide by the rules, they will be let go. I just wanted to say that I don't appreciate that type of comment. By FAR the most judgmental comment on here.

Sick of Junkies, why are you dragging my name into this? I have health insurance so I do care about certain medications. I refuse OxyContin because it comes out of pocket, but am willing to try anything. I've never walked in and asked for a specific drug, it's a matter of finances for me. Why would I pay $180 a month when I could see a doctor for my co-pay?

I don't appreciate my name being thrown into this, accusing me of being a junky when you have no idea what surgeries I've been through this year, what medications I have tried.

I love Dr. S and would be sad to leave his office, but continue to make yourself look ignorant.

First off cpr is changing things to better their clinic and now with the patients who left are obviously seeking I'm sorry but there is nothing wrong with going through a pharmacy they choose especially if you are still getting your meds but its when you are due for your meds not early like some who left tried to do. Charles comes off kinda strong but he is actually a nice and very informative guy who is trying to help patients. Now to accuse Leonard of sexual harassment is a joke if you are not following through with going to the cops then leave his name out of your mouth. And I'm sorry but I am pretty sure they would know if someone was trying to change a date vs an accidental pen mark on a script.
