I can't seen to get a straight answer. The vet prescribed mg 8 1/2 month pitbull round yellow pills that say Novo 4 on them. What I have read it's a 4 mg allergy pills for people, honestly I didn't care for the doctor personally. I felt like it was just a money grab. So I'm just wondering if this is safe for my puppy? Thanks in advance

" Each round, scored, yellow tablet marked with 'novo' over '4' on one side contains Chlorpheniramine maleate 4 mg.
Nonmedicinal ingredients:
- alginic acid
- cornstarch
- D&C Yellow No. 10
- dibasic calcium phosphate
- FD&C Yellow No. 6
- magnesium stearate
- microcrystalline cellulose "
That being said, I did read on another veterinary page from monvet.com that "Novo-pheniram is used to control itching and as a light sedative in small animals."
So it seems normal and safe that a vet might prescribe this medication, depending on what you brought your dog in for. How's your puppy doing?
