I am on Amloiopine 5 mg. and Amaxide 75/50 for extremely high blood pressure. I am 79 yrs. of age, and most of my relatives have not lived past 50 yrs. of age. My only sister is 75 and she and I have the same blood pressure as our dad had years ago. He only lived to be 44 yrs. I've been on meds since my 40's, and every now and then the doctor has to up the dose of meds. About a year ago my blood pressure was 200/80, and the doctor tried sever other things, and then ended up by doubling my prescription to get it down to what it is now - normal. I'm on amlodipine and linsinopril. I have m.s I get constant urine infections. The only thing that works it grapefruit seed oil. I am shocked to read you shouldn't take it with amlodipine. I'm on 5 mg. I've been take grapefruit seed oil for about a month. I check my blood pressure it still seems to be ok. ## Hello, Faith! How are you? I am 55 and for last 1 year I have been taking Telma 40 and Amlodact 5 in the morning Atorva 5 at night. Now I am to face acute knee problem that benumbed me and prevents smooth walking, A friend of mine advises me to take Cal Mag D and stop Amlodac 5. Can I stop it and opt for some other medication? is AMLODIPINE mfg Qualitest gluten free? ## Based on my research, each tablet of Amlodipine besylate manufactured by Qualitest Pharmaceuticals contains the following inactive ingredients: dibasic calcium phosphate anhydrous, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, and sodium starch glycolate. Unfortunately "sodium starch glycolate" is considered to be gluten and toxic to those who have severe cases of Celiac disease. This particular filler is common in many medications. So if you haven't already done so, I would probably make your doctor and pharmacist aware of your intolerance before filling any future prescriptions. I took Losar & Hydrochlorothiazide (50+12.5mg) and Amlodipine (5mg) tablet dose twice within an hour so, in morning by mistake. Around 6 pm I started feeling drowsy. My husband had a false positive on a hair follicle test for methamphetamine and amphetamine and I think it is because he takes Amlodipine Besylate every day. The hair follicle test results were so high that he would have had to do meth everyday. I know for a fact that he does NOT do meth, but he does take the Amlodipine Besylate 10mg every day and Clonidine 1am & 1pm that is the only meds that he takes on a daily basis. Has there been any documented cases where the Besylate would register in a hair follicle test as a false positive? ## Pls help. I am on clonindine and amlodipine for high blood pressure. I have taken this drug for 2 years and the last time I refilled it look completely different. Its much smaller and its a small round pill that has Z3 stamped on one side.
