Adderall Manufactured By Teva Not Working (Page 34) (Top voted first)
UpdatedI have had two refills of Adderall 20 mg that was manufactured by Teva/barr (Teva) and it seems to have much less medication in each pill. Refills by another manufacturer work. This is ridiculous, and where do we report Teva and who can check each pill for amount for medication? I would gladly donate some of my worthless ones to the FDA?
Re: JessikaLaurel (# 1123)
Correct. There is no way of knowing exactly what the ingredients are. Someone can say it is Adderall. Someone can say it is the same as what you get at a pharmacy in the US. It can even look the same because illegal drug manufacturers are making pills that look the same as what pharmacies in the US have. But that in no way means it is the same as a legit pharmaceutical manufacturer.
Re: JessikaLaurel (# 1123)
TEVA's standards have been so low the past few years it wouldn't be difficult to meet or exceed them for that matter.
Re: RJ (# 1137)
This has been going on for years, with people filling out online FDA forms to no avail, and yet the DEA has decided to lessen the amount of amphetamine allocated to drug makers once again in 2022 so that the problem escalates. At the same time, 'telepsychiatry' one-stop-shops for stimulants are everywhere, adding more demand for the lessened supply, making the situation even more dire.
One couldn't design a system where the average person--or even very many of them--has less hope in increasing the transparency about or quality/quantity of their ADHD/narcolepsy medication so that it once again is/does what it says on the tin.
This goes back far, way further than 1984's Hatch-Waxman Act which led to the generic tomfoolery we see today. Check the amount of amphetamine the DEA has authorized for the last ten or so years, cross-check it with the increase in the number of stimulants prescribed during this period, and it becomes very clear what is going on.

I just got the Alvogen generic adderall, and I feel exactly the same as you are describing.
Re: Britt (# 1128)
Sandoz CVS carries it. They may have more than 1 generic in stock so make specify Sandoz. My Dr writes Sandoz brand No Substitutions on my prescription.
Re: Kim (# 11)
I’m having heart palpitations too!
Any idea when brand will be in stock again?
Re: Dh (# 1148)
There's no such thing as brand Adderall except for the XR and Shire makes it. Shire is the original drug manufacturer of Adderall. I even tried contacting Shire to ask for resources who 'we' can go to for guidance. No response : (
Re: Truth (# 1158)
Imagine that....TEVA got sued!!!

Re: Browning (# 1165)
Alvogen wasn't as effective as Teva for me. I put up with it for a month since is was better than nothing and switched to Walgreens in order to get Teva (which is currently on backorder as far as I can tell).
Have you guys had any trouble getting your meds?
Re: Browning (# 1165)
I have to agree with you! My brain is all over the place, can’t stay on task, and it takes me forever to read documents to text clients. I thought it was just me! There is definitely something wrong! We should get reimbursed!
Re: Red (# 1164)
It would help if you all would list the type Of generics color, shape, imprint so we can all decide if there’s actually an issue or if it’s A Preference ? Because I can tell
You now the lighter peach imprinted as teva is bs it’s chalky and I won’t touch it, it’s from my pharmacy and manufactured by lannett and I’d never ever take it, makes me sleep but most are ok
Re: Smith Wagner (# 1166)
No I’m in MD but never have an issue gtng only teva not Lannett! Sometimes they will have to resend my rxs to a diff nearby Walgreens’s due to stock but never an issue getting it! Still they may look good n all but something ain’t right they’re all crap and hurt your stomach or feel diff each month! Not consistent and not quality controlled ehh
Re: Debra (# 1157)
Omg I would SCREAM! How sneaky they are! Always open the bag at the pharmacy desk before leaving! I hate that sneaky ish! So sorry
I have tried every generic. And although Teva is sometimes inconsistent, it is the best among the choices available. Whatever you do never accept
Mallinckrodt.
Re: Truth (# 1151)
I am narcoleptic. I have been taking up to 40mg of adderall, using 20mg pills for daytime sleepiness disorder for almost 9 years now. This month is the first time I've had trouble filling my script due to shortage. My pharmacist was out for about a week before she was able to fill my 3 month/180 count supply. This is the first time the pills feel like they are bunk. I have been sluggish, stuck in my head, and extremely tired. So much so it made me research the generics because I could clearly see my new script is a much brighter peach. I am having much different results than I'm reading from most. It seems as though, through the years I have been using Lannet with wonderful results. This new script is TEVA and it's awful!!! I was scared to drive home tonight even after taking 10mg more than usual!!
Re: TristnMtn (# 1193)
Teva being bad is definitely not a new problem. You can't discredit what thousands of people across the US have been reporting for the past few years because it has worked for you personally. I've taken ADD meds for over 25 years & generic Adderall IR 20mg same dosage for 14 years. I started having problems with it about 3 yrs ago. The efficiency varies batch to batch. Fluctuates between bad to worse.
Re: OverTheMoon (# 1195)
Look up how & why generic drugs in the US are able to be produced for distribution to US citizens much cheaper than brand names. Came across this brief article. interesting.

Re: Lauren (# 1206)
Good luck cuz Teva is like taking a sugar pill now
Re: Tim (# 1202)
I agree. But it is the best out there today…as sorry as it may be.
Re: Tevanooooo (# 1225)
Probably have to have them send it to a different pharmacy. Just call the new pharmacy and make sure their generic is not Teva. That’s what worked for me. Hope it works out for you soon bc wasting months at a time sucks. I’d also ask the doc for a 2 week supply if you try a new pharmacy that way if it doesn’t work you won’t have to wait an entire month.
