Adderall Manufactured By Teva Not Working (Page 26) (Top voted first)

I have had two refills of Adderall 20 mg that was manufactured by Teva/barr (Teva) and it seems to have much less medication in each pill. Refills by another manufacturer work. This is ridiculous, and where do we report Teva and who can check each pill for amount for medication? I would gladly donate some of my worthless ones to the FDA?

I agree. I've been a once-a-week user of TEVA 20mg XR for several years now with very good results. The last refill i got, (identical label, capsule imprint (M. Amphet Salts 20mg) and outside appearance), as all the others, had MUCH less product in the capsule. I noticed it right away. Half empty. I examined a number of other Under the assumption that the capsules really did have only half the dosage, I took another and waited. NOTHING. I took TWO more. No effect whatsoever, not even a dry mouth. I've only taken 2 capsules once in the 2 years I've been using Adderall before, so 4 should have had a huge effect - half empty or not. Tolerance is not an issue - I took my last dosage about a week ago- same effect as always - a mild nice increase in focus and energy. So that leaves the med. Fortunately.....i still have a few capsules from the last refill at the office. That will allow me to do 2 things: 1) confirm that a single dose STILL WORKS (it will) and 2: compare the amount, appearance and taste of the beads in OLD and NEW. I'll report back when I find out. Stay tuned.......

I agree... I had a script filled on 1/13 and I have been tired everyday since. I was falling asleep after taking a 30mg... Finally, I took one of the pills I had left from my script that was filled on December 11th and it worked...seems that I've gotten a bad batch of the Teva generic... I plan to call CVS in the morning... Anyone else notice a difference between scripts filled within the last few months?

Vyvanse is phenomenal; however, you will feel joint and bone pains. And, 30 mgs is enough.

I have an appt w a neurologist in 3days and it's my first time seeing a neurologist. I think I might have some degree of narcolepsy or a thyroid issue. But I go to a methadone clinic and take valium, both of which I've been on for nearly 10 years and I'm afraid they won't take me seriously bc of my medications. I've been fine for years up until about 3months ago. I rarely take my valium even so those aren't likely a factor. How do I get this Dr. to see past that? Any suggestions on what to say or how to go about this?

I have had the same problem with this manufacturer. I can not get the oval orange 30 mg made by Sandoz in any of the pharmacies near me in South FL. Any help???

Im not trying to be crappy...
But, you can't sit here talking about it should not be Legal to Legally make a Medication that is not equal to the origional counterpart ...
When you are acting as an Illegal Drug Dealer.
People die ..all the time...all the time ...from taking others Medications. This is how and why we have a Nation of Addicts and why many of us cannot fill our Prescriptions for Class C Medications without being treated like Drug Dealers.

I've also used Adderall (30 mg tablets) for many years. The experience I've had is far different from yours. The one manufacturer whose product has seemed consistently weak through the years is CorePharma. The tablets have always been chalky to me and this latest prescription does not seem to have any effect. At the price of pharmaceuticals these days there should be no excuse for it. The Barr, Teva, and Actavis Adderall tablets have always seemed okay with me. They have always been at least somewhat bitter in taste which I have come to associate with chemical ingredients, as opposed to chalky in taste which I have associated with "filler" type ingredients. Reading all of these posts I'm beginning to wonder about locations in which the prescriptions are being filled and things like that. One thing I'm not wondering about is the corrupt business operations of the pharmaceutical industry. That's a given. After reading FDA complaints against CorePharma it's hard not to come to the conclusion that they are a company that would have no problem cutting corners and indulging in shoddy manufacturing practices (like perhaps shorting active ingredients) to save or make more money.
Just wondering.

Not correct, teva acquired Actavis Generics Segment last year... now Actavis makes a horrible version of adderall (terrible just terrible) while Teva makes an okay 30 MG. I have no idea which product will become the drug sold...maybe both? Actavis tablets have a crescent moon and their 20 and 30 mg are the same size...Teva is a totally different looking medication (oval shaped, 20 is horrible and 30 is okay...).

Anyone have any issues with sandoz 30 MG. adderall? MY side effects are just some dizziness and mild headaches at end of day. They don't seem to work well at all in terms of being organized, clarity, and calm...

I just got Non-generic (Teva) Adderall 10mg filled yesterday and I took them for the first time day. Nothing.

I originally started taking Sandoz in 2010, but in the past couple of years Sandoz has gone downhill in availability and effectivity for me and I've found Corepharma to be a good replacement. The Barr/Teva football shape pills have a terrible comedown, as well as giving me jitters and being less effective then both Sandoz and Corepharma, and I avoid them as much as possible.

But recently my pharmacist said my insurance would cover the name brand, and here I sit having taken three times the normal dose as I normally take, and nothing. The bottle says Teva.

I took corepharma and it was really bad for me. I took non-generic for two months until my insurance said "I chose to take it" despite my doctor's notice medically needed. Walgreens was the only one that had a good generic, which was Barr; a company purchased by Teva, an Israeli pharma company. Now, Walgreens has the Teva generic. I took it and it was as if I was taking a placebo. These Pharmacys use whatever generic brand is on the market--it's like our petroleum, gold, fish, and stock industry; the only difference is our lives are at stake. The government doesn't care as long as these reps make their shares off of these pharma companies.

I don't think Activist and Teva are the same. Teva and Barr are now the same and the Teva I just filled with a b 974 on it does not work one bit. I do not know the lot number.

This has been the first reply showing the burning eyes. It is also happening to me just like acid has been poured on the eyeball. Mine is Teva B974. 30mg. I plan to go back to Shire 30mg xr. At least theirs worked.

FYI, if Medical Daily's article is correct -- Sandoz generic Adderall XR is manufactured by Shire. (Sandoz doesn't make their generic; they distribute the generic provided Shire.)

And Shire is the manufacturer of brand Adderall XR. I would think Sandoz generic would then be the best generic, just like Greenstone generic xanax is the best generic xanax (alprazolam) -- And Greenstone is owned by Pfizer, the manufacturer of brand Xanax.

Those fillers you speak of is the main culprit as to why these medications are working differently in so many people. That is why we are having the problems. When a manufacturer has clinical trials they aren't testing with all the different additives that generic companies are using to make their version of the medication. If they did they would find the reason right away as to why there are so many different responses to the same med. Take Wellbutrin for example Consumer Lab distributed an article that proved the medicine was not working in the generic form. The FDA pulled that particular companies version from the market. It also gave the name of the psy doctor who had been tracking his patients and found they had been stable on their medication for over 12 years only to have the generic version come along and the patients were struggling.

ditto. Pharmacist filled partial with sandoze adderall n the balance with teva. Teva is the worst! I let Pharmacy know a few months ago when sandoze adderall orange tablets were on back order tht it wasnt working 4 me, yet they filled it with teva oval 30 mg peach tablets and keep telling me when it comes off back order they will fill script with sandoze...meanwhile am wondering why sandoze brand is on back order again within 3 months?

Do u have an update?? I am so fed up with this crap and I'm in fear of losing my job becuse all if a sudden NOTHING works anymore. CVS is my top choice (closest to me, many around my area).

I have the orange football shaped 30 mg. They do not clear the brain fog and you want get a Major boost of energy. If you want the clear focus and energy you may have to go to the original manufacturer Shire even though they only produce
the XL version they work.
