Does cefdinir make your urine smell and does it cause you to need to go more often? ## The exact reason why medications do certain things to the body are unknown, however, they all do have side effects, because you are ingesting a foreign substance. This antibiotic is a generic for Augmentin, which contains Amoxicillin and Clavulanic Acid, so it does not contain Penicillin. While it should be safe for you to take, there is still a slight risk that you could be allergic to it, as well. Antibiotics that start with R

Used to treat MRSA ## To treat MRSA, Vancomycin or other antibiotics in the same class are used. Other options may include: Flucloxacillin, Erythromycin and Ciprofloxacin. I am not, however, finding any that start with an R. but it is possible that some doctors may use Rocephin, the active ingredient in Ceftriaxone, though it is not listed as being used to treat MRSA. Been taking 1 antibiotic pill instead of 2 a day

I've been taking antibiotics for a UTI for the past week and a half, my doctor said take this antibiotic for a week and you'll be done. It's been a week and a half, and I just realised that the bottle had said take two a day, but I've only been taking one a day. I know this was stupid of me to not read the bottle, but I just want to know if this will compromise my recovery or something. Can this pill be cut in half in order to make it easier to swallow? ## That really depends on whether or not this pill is a solid tablet or a capsule filled with liquid or powder. Generally, you can't really cut a capsule in half; but rather empty its contents into a glass of water and down it quickly. I wouldn't attempt this however if your medication is an extended release formula; (but based on your description I don't think it is). As such, if it is a tablet, I would just recommend cutting it in half as you planned on doing and taking it that way, as long as you take the two halves one after the other.
